Zeitgeist Zero are a Leeds based band, who wanted a vampire band shoot for promotional use.
From their website:
Emerging from the depths of the alternative music scene, the Anglo-Irish band Zeitgeist Zero offers a unique sonic experience.
Fronted by the enigmatic Teresa Dead, whose haunting vocals and poetic lyrics encapsulate the very essence of the darkwave aesthetic, Zeitgeist Zero beckons listeners into a world of mystery, introspection, and emotion. The beating heart of the band is Corin Zero whose command over guitars and synths adds layers of atmosphere and intensity. Anchoring the ensemble is Ian Grimm, a seasoned bassist and backing vocalist hailing from illustrious acts like Rhombus and The Sisters of Murphy.
The shoot took place in the photographic studios at Leeds university. Gothic themed props and a coffin were brought in for the vampire theme. Capturing singer Teresa Dead as a true Vampire Queen of Darkness was easy as Teresa has an alluring stage presence.
Corin and bassist Ian’s images show them without their guitars, keyboards or bass. Many bands I have captured want their musical instruments in their shoots, but they hide behind them making their guitars or drumkits the focus of the images. Corin and Ian chose not to do this as the focus of the shoot was vampire style ‘Night People’ (track 6 on their new album ‘Meddling With The Forces’).
If you haven’t heard Zeitgeist Zero, check them out.
